My opinion is that abolishing ICE should be separated from immigration policy. It’s basically a paramilitary arm of the Republican Party now. So the question should be whether federal dollars should pay for that.

Young people are already the most tolerant folks in the country. No one ever proposes making people 50+ do national service or some such because no one believes you can make them do anything, while it's generally accepted that young people exist to be commanded and pay for everyone else's bullshit.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.
