The Coast Guard reversed its 'swastikas aren't all that bad' policy just hours after the Washpost broke the story.

It's both surprising, and good, to see that one government agency these days is capable of being embarrassed, and changing course quickly.

In reversal, Coast Guard again classifies swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The new order came hours after The Post reported the service would instead classify such symbols as “potentially divisive” under guidelines set for release next month.

If this is even close to being true, it's over the GOP. Losing a majority of whites? That's so rare that this would be political earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, and perfect storm all rolled up in one cataclysmic event.

Every couple of years, new USians are re-educated about how difficult prosecuting cops [at any level of government] is. Yet, I am subjected hourly to "THEY MUST BE CHARGED AND PROSECUTED" and it takes everything in me not to reach across the screen to punch folks in the neck, lol.
Federal law enforcement officers and prosecutors effectively have absolute immunity from civil liability, even when they commit clear crimes.
Martinez should sue TF out of the DHS

workers should democratically control the means of production and the halls of political power
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

This is nuts.

Yesterday in the Comey hearing, prosecutors *repeatedly* confirmed that the full grand jury never saw or voted on the two-count indictment.

Now they’re claiming the grand jury *did* vote on it.

Trying not to be too alarmest but . . . unidentified US military contractors claimed part of the territory along the Rio Grande for the US yesterday. This is the same geographic area that triggered the US-Mexico War in 1846.

The signs read in English and Spanish, "Warning: Restricted Area," and had been declared restricted by "the commander."

Yes. If I wear a suit I won't notice that there's no legroom anymore. Or that the airline now charges me for every item. Or that they cut flight attendant staffing to the bare minimum. Or that the airlines bribed Trump to scuttle rules that gave passengers a tiny bit of power when airlines fuck up
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

Dang - how bad was the Border Patrol invasion in North Carolina?

None other than Thom Tillis himself is blasting DHS for gross overreach, and demanding lists of those detained, property damage caused by CBP agents, and their plan for restitution.

This is legal jargon for "you and your lawyers are full of shit," which is really not something that should happen when the "you" is a federal government agent and the "your lawyers" are the federal government's lawyers.

Important to remember that the US has not actually disbursed $20bn to Argentina. The guarantee of a bailout was enough to tilt the election, which was enough to head off the market rout. I hate Trump and Milei, but to the extent it forestalled more suffering for Argentines, it was pretty cheap.
