1. In a major victory, Democrats have managed to get all anti-trans riders stripped from the final appropriations bills.

This includes HHS and Ed, which had the worst provisions in congressional history.

If it passes, it will be a big win for 2026.

The HHS and Education bills once contained the most sweeping anti-trans provisions in congressional history. Now they contain none.

Marx remarks somewhere that historical events appear, as it were, twice: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

He forgot to add that beneath the farce also can lurk tragedy.

Cassidy’s sole legacy is dead kids

That’s all he’ll be remembered for

He knowingly cast the key vote to confirm the world’s most extreme, most dangerous anti-vaccine activist & conspiracy theorist to lead the federal health system

He did it so Trump would love him—& Trump threw him under the 🚌
bill cassidy traded countless lives of babies and children and grandmas so trump wouldn’t burn him. and trump just burned him.

The images and stories coming out of Minneapolis are extraordinary. We can't say we did not know what was happening. Lots of people are putting their bodies on the line to make sure we do.

New comb jelly species discovered near Puerto Rico. These would be pretty low-calorie "gelata” snacks for us, but it’s fun to see humans exploring the deep sea!
Meet Duobrachium sparksae: a newly described comb jelly that looks like a glowing hot-air balloon drifting just above the deep seafloor. Transparent, delicate, and unmistakably transfixing, it reminds us how much biodiversity is in the deep oceans.

Reports said the trial was halted. HHS says it will proceed. The revised protocol remains unethical. Scrutiny must continue until participants are no longer placed in harm’s way. I read the revised protocol and wrote a follow-up.
