Money is so stupid and obscene right now, it's like billionaires know that it won't be worth anything in 5 years.

Gotta bring back "cred" first
in 2026, let's bring back the concept of "selling out" and once again make it contemptible

I can't sleep at night because of simple dread and yet there's motherfuckers out there spite-snitching people into camps FOR FUN and sleeping just fine.
I’m not gonna post it because it’s genuinely so grim but there’s this comedian who set up a fake ICE tip line for people to call to report on immigrants and he posts their conversations on TikTok. The most recent post of his was a Kindergarten teacher who wanted one of her students parents deported.
Elizabeth is a Columbia Heights fourth-grader who loves volleyball, learning English and giggling in the halls with her friends. She's been held in the Dilley Immigration Processing Center for nearly a month, and she and her mom have both fallen ill. sahanjournal.com/education/co...

Whether as an audience you are capable of separating art from artist is one's individual challenge. Collectively it's much more important to separate money from artist.
Something to think about not just in the present moment, but in the future. Those who create harm must reckon with those they harmed & make amends. In the meantime, whether they do or don’t, do we owe them socializing, professional opportunities, our time, attention, energy, engagement? No. We don’t

I'm increasingly cool with the idea that the Toronto Blue Jays got as close to a World Series title as possible without having to find out how many guys would be willing to visit the White House.

Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

I am begging podcasters to stop citing Google AI summary results in their real-time fact-checks.

I'm sure the intention is either as a disclaimer or a bit, but the effect is advertising and norm-building.

I reject the Great Man approach to history but I gotta say Trump, Musk, John Roberts, Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Zaslav are making increasingly compelling arguments for Shitty Man historiography.

As a Canadian growing up on American TV, I thought the future would be all worrying about missing my annual physical because I dropped my parking validation in the garburator, not witnessing the deranged death throes of an empire.

There was only one policy and that was Policy-22, which specified that you can't work from home, unless offices are closed, then you must work from home.
“That's some policy, that Policy-22,' they observed.
'It's the best there is,' Doc Daneeka agreed.

My theory is that human civilization is a term paper, and we've collectively realized we're not making the climate change deadline. So some of us went to the bar, some of us went to sleep, and some of us are throwing a RAGER.
The collapsing American empire is a runaway train we’re simultaneously passengers on and tied to the tracks in front of. We can either search for ways to survive or just scream until we’re dead, and one feels a lot better than the other.
