Former Christian Republican (40+ yrs). Grateful for the Information Age. Still finding my way in a world I wasn't raised to understand. Poorly educated but not an idiot. Mom to grown kids who I made sure were not poorly educated. I value kindness.
Sometimes I’m glad I’m poor because alcohol is far too expensive for me to make a new problem for myself.
oh so after the election we’re going to get a lame duck republican majority confirming justice matthew kacsmaryk. good times.
So @elienyc.bsky.social and @strictscrutiny.bsky.social have speculated that Alito may retire soon. I agree. Elie lays out the case here—it'd be odd to release a memoir in October if he's (a) still serving and (b) unable to promote it because he's hearing arguments. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

This should be a bigger deal in the press than it is. Truly unacceptable.
Pam Bondi brought a document to the Judiciary Committee today that had my search history of the Epstein files on it.

The DOJ is spying on members of Congress. It’s a disgrace and I won’t stand for it.

Humor keeps us from losing our minds right now, I swear. The funny people are under appreciated. Whenever we get to the other side of this there should be statues of them in public parks.
Recently, there have been several stick-ups and one Axe murder (in the first Degree). Management has made no Secret of the need to increase security, but still haven’t found the Right Guard. Finding themselves underarmed, the crime wave continues to roll on.

Ali slept overnight on his friend’s grave after a funeral marked by singing and dancing, gestures so dangerous in Iran they can lead to arrest.

As graves fill with victims of the IRGC crackdown, funerals are shedding quiet submission and erupting into song, movement, and noise.
So many Iranians killed, funeral traditions are changing
As the Iranian regime’s violence disrupts burial traditions, some Iranians are reinventing how they mourn by publicly singing and dancing.

The strength of character and moral commitment exhibited here should be aspirational to all of us. I am continually humbled and inspired by Ukrainians.
Skeleton racer Heraskevych's father, Mykhailo, sitting near the start house, broke down in tears when the IOC disqualified his son from Olympics minutes before his first run. The decision was made as the athlete refused to remove a helmet bearing portraits of Ukrainian athletes killed in war.

Perhaps, for the sake of efficiency: Next time Bondi shows up for a congressional hearing, each Democrat should have a pointer and a sign with these 3 bullet points. Then whenever her cortisol starts to spike they can just tap the appropriate bullet point while repeating “reclaiming my time”.

Government enforcers who are not known to the people are called secret police. And that is unacceptable.
