RULES FOR BLUESKY

Welcome friends! Here are some differences from the BirdSite that I hope you'll respect.

1. We do not quote dunk. Quote dunking is a miserable thing to do. It spreads terrible crap to your friends feeds and generates rage clicks. I unfollow people who quote dunk.
It does come in bags too

Okay as much as I love tail fins can I please have one (1) decent utilitarian hatchback in plug-in hybrid form?

Most of my driving is ten miles from home but several times I year I need to go 500+ and I can't add two more hours to the trip please just let me use gas for those

I actually think this is going okay right now. Ish. Better than expected.
DHS is shutting down shortly while the rest of the government remains open bc democrats (so far, things could change) actually handled this situation pretty well, but if you think those facts are going to have any effect on senate Gabe’s poasting, well, I’m afraid you don’t know senate Gabe.

When is Schumer going to understand that there is no legitimate function of an executive-branch domestic paramilitary
This is why there must be a full, independent investigation of every incident that ICE has been involved in. DHS and this administration cannot be trusted to carry out investigations on their own.

And it’s why Democrats are fighting to rein in ICE.

There seems to be a lot of discussion about Gavin Newsom today.

I wanted to re-share this piece that I wrote, because I have a lot of center-to-left Dems that follow me that want to understand.

There are very good reasons transgender people do not like Gavin Newsom.
Why Transgender People Are Not Feeling Gavin Newsom
We have seen this song and dance before.

NIMBYism to the rescue
for better or worse, this will probably be the most successful and compelling argument by communities against ICE concentration camps being built:

we know this, but a reminder: anytime ICE CBP etc says they’re drawing down their presence in a city, it’s bullshit. whatever their numbers, lawless federal agents remain behind & still cause havoc & kidnap people. Also relocated agents just go somewhere else to destroy lives. Abolish ICE end DHS

He literally says in this clip that ICE will keep in Minnesota “quick reaction forces” — a military term — to go after “agitators.” Remember that those on the ground in MPLS have spent more than a week trying to tell everyone that Trump’s prior “deescalation” was a ruse and ICE is still operational

These dudes think this is so clever.

Beyond the difference in harms that accompanies the age limits for booze and voting, there were 26,000+ arrests of minors for liquor law violations in 2019. It’s a relatively common crime.

There are functionally no arrests each year for in-person voter fraud.
Rep. Brian Steil: "I flew home to my home state of Wisconsin, went to buy a 6 pack a beer, the clerk asked for my ID, confirmed it, and then I was allowed to buy the beer. I just think it's nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots."

He gave them the anti-aircraft laser because he's pleased with their work kicking down doors, crashing cars, and shooting innocents.

Y'all must understand, the work of CBP and ICE has the *full* endorsement of the regime. They love the terror, they WANT the terror. The terror is the point.
HEGSETH GAVE THE GUYS SHOOTING CITIZENS IN THE STREET AND BREAKING DOWN DOORS AN ANTI-AIRCRAFT LASER.

Particularly since easier access to rape of all kinds and enhanced immunity from any consequence has been revealed beyond shadow of doubt as one of the primary —if not the sole—motivations behind the drive to acquire vast wealth.

A billionaire should be presumed a serial rapist.
If your response to the question “What are you going to do about the rapists?” is “Let me tell you how much richer the rich people are,” then you answered the question and your answer is “Nothing.”

Trump’s pardons for Jan. 6 rioters were already indefensible.

The fact that so many of those who received pardons went on to commit additional crimes, including many felonies, makes the move look so much worse.

Watching China become the climate change heroes while Trump's America throws away renewable tech & knowledge & instead becomes the climate change villains is wild

All because some offshore windmills were visible from Donald's little Scottish golf club & he's too much of a petty moron to handle it
If China's emissions had kept growing at previous levels emissions would like, what, maybe a full GIGATONNE higher....the area of avoided emissions here is like deleting the emissions of entire countries. This is happening at a scale that will very clearly have an effect in lessening disasters

The SAVE Act has passed the House, making it harder for 69 million American women to vote.

This isn’t about voter fraud or undocumented immigrants.

This is about suppressing the female vote.

They want to repeal the 19th and this is a step in that direction.

You realise it is three years to the day that Brianna Ghey was murdered.

An innocent young girl killed because of transphobia and hate. What's changed in the three years since? Transphobes have upped their attacks. The government has increased discrimination.

It doesn't have to be like this.
