boston sent vital assistance following the 1917 halifax harbor explosion (so awful it killed 1700 people), and as thanks, nova scotia has sent us a christmas tree every year. it’s a nice little tradition. this is the first time the boston mayor visited to retrieve it in person
In Canada, Wu helps chop down Boston's Christmas tree
Mayor Michelle Wu spent three days in Nova Scotia, saying she wanted to affirm Boston's relationship with Canada amid antagonism from the Trump administration.

pickup trucks for the average person should not have been allowed to advance past this. if you need anything bigger, you should have to provide some kind of documentation showing you have the license and need for special heavy machinery, otherwise you get the 1990 toyota hilux

Street Art - Ireland

A roadside vertical post aka bollard painted as a blue octopus with tentacles extending across the pavement, using the curb and cobbles to suggest movement. I love the use of multiple colors and the eyes & brows are wonderful!! 😁

Better cooking, easier cleaning, grid resiliency built in. Win win win.

Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

The Trump administration wants to rescind a 2009 finding that climate change endangers public health.

Physicians and epidemiologists argue the move ignores mounting evidence linking climate change to heat deaths, epidemics, air pollution and mental health crises.

From extreme heat to mosquito-borne illnesses, climate change is making people sicker and more vulnerable to disease. Health scientists explain what individuals and governments can do about it.

On Friday, I'm finally doing it: I'm recording a pod on balcony solar! This is probably the No. 1 request I get from listeners.

I'm talking to Cora Stryker of Bright Saver, author of the whitepaper below.

What should I ask her?

Next time someone tells you renewables will beat gas on economics to justify deregulating everything, maybe consider that even wildly uneconomic coal plants continue to run and pollute, and coal pollution may well go up not down due to bonkers state intervention.
The Trump admin seems set to force two Colorado coal plants to stay open past their planned closure this year, even as the costs of keeping an aging, unnecessary Michigan coal plant running through the summer top $80M. Are more must-run orders coming?
