yeah, I'm feeling the same. people a lot smarter than me have already pointed this out, but we Millenials especially have wrongly internalized that interventionism can only ever be about resources, money, & oil—even though that wasn't even close to true for Iraq, the defining war of our generation.
The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane
