Why don't we have more good journalism?

Mostly, because people are unwilling to pay for it.

We have, collectively, gotten the idea that information should be free for the reading.

You can't complain about lousy reporting & analysis and also gripe about paywalls.

AUDIBLE whoa on video after this quote.
According to Phee, Cathy said: “Caitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court because without the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn’t be making anything.”

This. The committee was full of skeptics before who wanted proof of safety and efficacy --- who it has now are denialists at one end, non-expert conspiracy theory believers -- appointed rather than rigorously vetted.

Stop co-opting the word skeptic.
The assault on science continues, and the @nytimes.com enables it by giving them the moniker of “skeptics”.

No. Skeptics don’t blindly trust claims or anecdotes, they want proof. People who ignore a vast body of evidence are deniers, not skeptics.

Buy a f*cking dictionary 🤦🏻‍♂️
CDC committee members, some of whom are vaccine skeptics, are likely to recommend restricting the use of hepatitis B shots at birth or delaying them. The vaccine is credited by public health experts with nearly eliminating maternal transmission of the disease in the U.S.

i feel so bad for people who were close with Speaker Hortman, to have to watch her name get used like a political football this week

our legislators are traumatized, I honestly can't imagine what this session will be like but I hope the state is offering some sort of assistance

This is the best piece I've read on this -especially to clarify what to do with our empathy when someone who deserves no mourning dies.

And just in case anyone is wondering "genetic, neurologic, or metabolic conditions" are listed separately for children and teens. And those are quite broad without further definitions.
This was how CVS worked for me but for my son at Walgreens they verified 3x that he had a health condition after my attestation AND asked which one. So heads up for minors, I even challenged asking that question

And good god, can we do something about pharmacy privacy?
FYI, the Walgreens app just asks you to check a box that you’re eligible for a Covid vaccine. No wait at the Snelling & Randolph location right now

This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

I think the DFL often has a very insulting way of dealing with its Somali/East African bloc. Some is lack of knowledge or interest in that community. Some is pure transactional greed. But I think the State party should be very careful in fucking with a major electoral engine keeping the state blue.

Ok, story’s out about DFL mayoral endorsement being revoked. Remember as you talk to folks:
- Fateh had nothing to do with faulty tabulation
- Frey finished with 30%, pathetic for an incumbent
- Maybe pay attention to the guy actually hurt, who came out of nowhere to grab 20%: DeWayne Davis.
