As I’ve said for weeks, it’s absurd that we’re even negotiating healthcare. Republicans should not be let off the hook for the suffering they are causing. Their policies are expected to kick half a million Georgians off healthcare. Georgia is expected to lose almost 34,000 jobs as a result. 1/

To put this in scale, Elon Musk's salary from Tesla alone could fund the SNAP program for the entire country into 2034.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk scored a resounding victory on Thursday as shareholders approved a pay package of as much as $878 billion over the next decade, endorsing his vision of morphing the EV maker into an AI and robotics juggernaut.

The conversation about illegal immigration would be very different in America if the focus of federal law enforcement was on arresting and prosecuting corporate employers who hire undocumented workers.

we cannot afford billionaires
Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.
UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.
Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.
This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Wow: @ajc.com's Lautaro Grinspan reports that in just one week in October, ICE spent nearly $950,000 on ads in Atlanta — more spending than in any other U.S. city.
That amount would've been enough to provide SNAP benefits for over 20,000 Atlantans every month.

Feeding America has a page where you can input your zip code and it'll show you all of the food banks near you overlaid on a map. If you need it, it's there. If you don't need it, think about donating money if you have it and your time if you don't.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
