This time, I failed to resist.

One of the annoying things about social media is that even when it's not a Nazifest like Twitter, it's still SOCIAL media, and the anxiety part of social anxiety doesn't care that the social part is just virtual.
Today I successfully resisted posting a reply on a post made by someone I follow but who does not follow me, a reply that I thought was funny but I'm pretty sure would have just been embarrassing and awkward to everyone else, especially the person I was going to reply to.

So, you know, go me.

I feel everyone should have a favorite Burgess Shale creature.

Mine, of course, is Anomalocaris.

This is pretty much how the executive presentation at today's big meeting at work went, too.

I'm hiding in back of the big conference room buying eBooks. I had no idea @chriswarcraft.bsky.social wrote a scifi novel, so naturally I had to get it.

Well, today is off to a good start. It's another one of those quarterly big meetings where I am stuck wearing the ouchie (but cute!) shoes again in a room crammed full of people. Only this time, they didn't even have a name tag for me and I had to get a perfunctory dashed-off handwritten one.

Oh no.

Oh no no no no.
welcome to bluesky. if the word "mapquest" means anything to you and/or you used it as a verb, you're in the right place

Last I might I dreamt that I met @marthawells.com in person, and embarrassed myself trying to pronounce "Ile-Rien", because even in my dreams I'm a socially-awkward dork, apparently.

You're not an expert in anything, Anna. You're just a dumb nerd. Don't argue with people on the internet.

*sigh*

I'm watching episodes of the origjnal "Love Boat" series on streaming (don't judge me!).

I know I haven't seen it since my mom and I would watch it together when I was a kid, but it has a lot more ghosts, angels, and evil robot duplicates of the crew than I remember.

This stuff is bullshit. I've been using for a week now, and my face still isn't radiating its own photons.

I confess I bought this just because of the title.

The ENTIRE FUCKING REASON Star Trek wasn't a TV series that had three seasons in the 60s then was cancelled and forgotten is because colossal numbers of women fans organized numerous Star Trek conventions and made fanzines in the 70s which convinced the rights owners to revive the franchise.
okay grandpa, let's get you to bed

I'm telling you, they need to start adding werewolves to these things.
And, if the ratings look less than bright for Hallmark, things are downright grim on Great American Family, where they kicked off their Christmas programming to literal crickets

A WISCONSIN CHRISTMAS PIE failed to register in the ratings, which measured programming with as few as 153k live viewers

I just took an internal survey at work about AI, and I was utterly utterly honest about how I think it's useless counterproductive bullshit and don't want it as part of my job.

So, I'm probably going to get fired.

SURPRISE!

I had an idea on Tuesday for how to do the Perfect Space Marine RPG, so I wrote the Perfect Space Marine RPG.

It's both a shitpost and a dead serious game. And it's, uh... 34,000 words long?

Anyway enjoy!!!

The Hallmark Channel needs to adapt this into one of their Christmas movies. I'd be more inclined to watch them if they included more werewolves.

I found it!

I ran across this book years ago, before I really started buying eBooks, but I couldn't get it at the time and I didn't have an account anywhere to save it on a wishlist then. And then I forgot the title!

But I remembered the description, and this was it! I'm so happy!!

My most unhinged literary take is that Anne Rice's "Mummy" books are far superior to her Vampire Chronicles books
