The Suica penguin has been the face of JR East's popular IC transit card since its inception in 2001. Now, the company says it will replace the iconic character with an as-yet-unannounced mascot. That's left fans both perplexed and irate.

I really hate this film, but mostly because I hate samurai. The film itself is pretty good.
Most people I talk too associate samurai films with "Kurosawa and Mifune." Which means they miss out on the greatness that was Tatsuya Nakadai.

HARAKIRI is easily one of the best samurai films ever made, second possibly only to SEVEN SAMURAI. Directed by master filmmaker Kobayashi Masau. Genius.

Yeah I remember going from “oh hey these are some interesting posts about export-driven growth in Asia” to “oh he likes anime too” to “hmm” to “his japan takes kinda suck” to not really reading anything of his in the last several years
The collapse of Noah Smith from 'interesting writer whose occasionally a bit random' into 'complete idiot and mentalist' is one of the most clear cut cases of twitter-poisoning I've seen
Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.

In Connery era he would just start out the movie coming out in a diving suit on a beach in Belize, unzipping sexily, meeting M and saying “Looksh like Q’s exploshive Bond dummy worked perfectly”
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Despite flying a lot, I think on some deep level my brain still thinks that the way flying works is: for every hour of flight time, you roll 2d10 for a 5% chance of “plane fall” (mechanical failure, turbulence, just random freak crash). So for a 10hr flight you have to survive 10 of those checks

So for the past two weeks I've been disconnected from k-pop fandom. I don't know who won anything, I don't know how much anything sold, I don't know who got a RAK, I don't know any rumors. Sometimes I put on a song and listen to it. Is this how most people listen to music?

So I finally made some progress in Hades II and I feel Oceanus is a much better level design than Asphodel, for instance. I still things some things are a bit _too_ cartoony though, like Scylla and her band, but it's fun!
