I guess I'm the only person who thought that one joke was very funny in its original context in "What We Do in the Shadows" but is getting pretty irritated by the realization that he's going to be seeing it once a year on a Sunday in February for the rest of his natural life

well now I had to watch an obvious bad joke Super Bowl ad because people decided to act like it was actually reflective of the nature of a film that's releasing in three months and it was, obviously, a bad joke Super Bowl ad

good job, Content Farm Team, you clickbaited me

as a lifelong fan of Star Trek and Star Wars, nothing is more bizarre to me than the common practice of Trek fans generalizing about Wars fans, and vice versa.

I personally guarantee you.

Both fandoms are predominantly full of wonderful, brilliant people.

This emerging excuse of "everyone but Epstein had sex only with girls who were 18+" is rather at odds with the accounts from victims of, you know, being given to men other than Epstein? You have to say they're all lying, not just that the emails don't explicitly talk about minors
Last week the far right started peddling a narrative that the outrage over Epstein is a moral panic. Today, like clockwork, a more polite version of that narrative appears in the Atlantic.

When Ru tried a similar campaign in 2022-23, journalists were calling me non-stop, essentially to ask when Ukrainians would crack and demand their govt surrender to Ru. By now, the West has realized Ukr won't surrender and now our media doesn't cover the story as much, maybe because...

according to a pediatric ER doctor my wife follows on Instagram they have started to see children coming in sick because their parents are asking ChatGPT what the correct dosage is on over the counter medication instead of just looking at the instructions on the bottle
One of the easiest ways to shoot down the idea that "AI" is an expert is to show how it deals with something people know about.

Younger readers may not get this as most appliances come pre-wired, but anyone 35+ can see these are chaotic fire hazards.

From Mastodon, AI asked how to wire a plug:

My first grader (a US citizen) came home from school crying because a friend from class (also a US citizen) hasn’t been coming to school because his parents (one of whom is not a citizen) are afraid of ICE.

Little kids don’t have concepts of racism and xenophobia. That has to be taught. Or imposed.
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"

This👇🏽. And #MediaIsComplicit

To call it OTHER thn wht it is— “concentration camps”—serves to normalize it

There is another reality tht should be acknwldgd: tht the inhumane conditions in these concentration camps are not new

They are ones tht hve long been tolerated in U.S.’s incarceration systm😶
Call it what it is, @nbcnews.com. Concentration camp.
Every time.

The OED defines a concentration camp as “a camp in which large numbers of people, esp. political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities.”
👀
The proposed centers are so large that some could house as many as 8,000 detainees at once, according to a DHS spreadsheet of more than 20 potential locations that was verified by NBC News. The largest federal prison in the U.S., for example, has roughly 4,000 inmates.

If there's ever been a time to NOT be incrementalist, this is it. The most political capital you're gonna have is right now. And we got Gestapo death squads in MSP and TB spreading through concentration camps in Texas. If you can't find a win there, get out of politics. The Epstein Class, baby
