Being in New Zealand has been glorious, and I’ve been trying to bring joy to our world that needs more joy and less rage posting.

But this is a rage post. You need to read this gift article because you need to be enraged.

I loved the phrase “it’s a marathon, not a sprint” for social justice work until I read somewhere someone wrote “it’s a relay, not a marathon.” Yes! Rest is part of it. If you can swing a marathon that’s great, but we need relay runners & rest too.
I’m seeing more and more Minneapolis/Minnesota people naming that they are burned out and I just hope people allow themselves to change their pacing from sprint to marathon or better yet, a relay.

Slow down if the alternative is you crashing out and not being able to do anything.

A company making a Super Bowl ad so bad that it actually causes customers to flee the company in droves sounds like the subplot in a 90s romcom.

A Detroit billionaire who owns the existing cross-border bridge met with Howard Lutnick Monday.

Then Lutnick spoke with Trump by phone.

Just after, Trump threatened to block the opening of a new bridge between Detroit & Windsor, which would take away toll revenue from said billionaire.

“This refusal to start a review is confusing…It is surprising & we’re trying to understand what has changed.”-Moderna pres

I understand. Vinay Prasad was going to complain about controls & justify denying review no matter what. It’s his job. Gold Standard Vinay Prasad.
NEW: The F.D.A. refused to accept an application from Moderna for its mRNA flu vaccine.

Its reason: The agency did not think Moderna compared the new vaccine to one of the best flu shots available. The company spent $750M+ on a 41,000 person study.

If Starmer is serious about a "reset" for Labour then one of the first things which needs to happen is that he boots Mahmood, and others, out of the cabinet and scraps his government's cruel and inhumane policies and rhetoric against migrants, and other marginalised groups. #r4today

Trump already indicted Rep. LaMonica McIver for protesting at ICE facility. Now he tried to indict 6 more Democrats. We have NEVER seen a President use DOJ like this before. Dems need to make it clear they will be prosecuting Trump AND all GOP co-conspirators. Plus declare His pardons are invalid!
UNFU**ING REAL! Trump regime sought to prosecute and imprison 6 members of Congress for daring to defy them. Again we are at war. And the fact so many Democrats don't know or are too timid to fight back is why Im considering running for Congress in NY's 12th CD! www.nytimes.com/2026/02/10/u...

a big lesson for me over the past ten years is:

if you run an organisation and think - and all the experts you have on staff think - that an outcome will be AN UNMITIGATED DISASTER then it is very important not to eg allow a bunch of non-experts a free choice in whether to do the disaster or not.
to be fair, a lot of quite senior people including the then Prime Minister were saying exactly this just before he made us have that incredibly stupid referendum.

and then a bunch of the ones who'd said it resigned from government and the others got fired.
It is so embarrassing that it has taken nearly a decade for a British minister to say this, a statement of the absolute bloody obvious
