The fact that we suddenly stopped hearing about and seeing members of The Proud Boys and other radical right wing groups as ICE began recruiting shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. They’re all members and doing what they always wanted to do.

I think one of my interesting evolutions is that I have been getting more left-wing* not less over the years in terms of the actual substance of my principled beliefs, but also more dismissive of and annoyed with pop leftism and the "village leftist" as a Kind of Guy.

One of my favorite movies is about some hippies trying to stop a nonexistent war (they're sweet but confused). An FBI agent accuses them (at gunpoint) of hating America, and the hippie says "You got it wrong, man. We love this country. I am an American. I am duty bound to make this country better."
how could your reaction, in mid-January '26, with people dying by the fucking thousands in Iran and protesting anyway, and people making ICE's lives a living hell in Minneapolis, be "nobody can stop evil and it's not worth it to try"

Renee Good committed gender insubordination: she didn't cower & grovel to male authority. Many women are killed for the very same reason all over the world. We just call it by the euphemism "domestic violence" instead of what it is: a campaign of political terrorism in which any man can participate.

The worst sin that the leftists of my lifetime have committed is honestly making a whole bunch of LGBT kids feel like their identity is frivolous and tertiary at best to things that are Actually Important. It started the second gay marriage was legalized.
so much of pop culture and particularly gay/queer pop culture has been captured by dumb-ass pop wisdom, its wild to see people who are/will be victimized for their identity go all in on the "identity politics is a distraction" crowd because space socialism will do away with homophobia or something
