It's simple — @propublica.org workers should not be replaced by artificial intelligence. Our contract proposal specifically says that generative artificial intelligence ("GAI") should not be used to replace employees. Management struck out this entire section in their response to our proposal.

As someone who went thru the naturalization process and knows what it takes to get to this point, I can tell you this is absolutely sickening. They are having something *stolen* from them they’ve gone to great pains to legitimately secure. It’s contemptible. Discriminatory. And should be illegal.
