You say you wish to discuss this more. I insist on tabling that proposal.

Agritourism Ontario: your laudable efforts to promote agricultural tourism might be more effectively served by using the word 'death' less.

I've never seen a single sign warn of possible death THREE times.

Look, I think Lord of the Rings is overrated too, but I try not to degrade folks that want to read it.

Past self: A supercomputer on my desk?!

Me: It won't be that super.

Poor people get less secure computing.

This should not be.

(relative with a chromebook stopped getting updates... and now they'll just live with it and be insecure. There are thousand of other examples... Cheap IOT devices, low cost 'security' cameras, etc.

I've been a synology fan for awhile, the simplicity and reliability has been great. A bit expensive, but overall I've been happy.

Until the updates stopped coming (EOL).

Now I have a security liability that's quite pricey to replace.

I would hesitate to recommend at this point.

If I saw an ethics waiver, I'd steal it.
I encourage everyone to sit with the term "ethics waiver" for a minute.
The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

Preserving The Web Is Not The Problem. Losing It Is.
Recent reporting by Nieman Lab describes how some major news organizations—including The Guardian, The New York Times, and Reddit—are limiting or blocking access to their content in the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. As stated in the article, these organizations are blocking access largely out of concern that generative AI companies are using the Wayback Machine as a backdoor for large-scale scraping.

Class action suits will not be heard by the Supreme Court, as collectively class members own every stock.
NEW: The Supreme Court will begin requiring litigants in March to list the stock ticker for each party involved in a case to make it easier to check if a justice has a conflict of interest that might require recusal. #SCOTUS

Going to need a new plaque underneath the old one talking about how the Trump administration attempted to erase this history.

Censorship documentation is an important part of history as well.
👀 Invoking Orwell, a federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to restore panels and historical acknowledgments of the history of slavery that the National Park Service removed in Philadelphia. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

A year later Weev would play a key role in professionalizing the trolls who played a key role in getting Trump elected.
A strange find from the Epstein files:

A hacker named Vincenzo Iozzo shares with Epstein a rumor that Peter Thiel was "bankrolling" the neo-Nazi white supremacist hacker troll known as "weev."

Conversation is about financial strategies and "currencies."
