This has gotten surprisingly little attention — it's not even on the front page of @science.org right now — but it's really hard to describe what the SAFE Research Act would do to US science and scientists without sounding insane

So I’ve had a very brief search of the Epstein database in the last half hour.

Noticed Epstein was paying for Google search result poisoning and attending hacker conferences

Palantir unlocked a new category of evil for it's evil products.

In a more just world everyone involved in this would be sued to oblivion.
During the height of the pandemic, Tyson used Palantir to predict Covid-19 infections among meatpacking workers down to a nearly exactly figure. But rather than using this data to increase worker protections, Tyson used it plan for labor shortages + plant closures

I dislike it when either party tries to make silly dumb wordplay on their opponents names. It's lazy; attack policies, not names.

That being said... Without audio on, I'm going to assume she means "new scum" and not "news cum", which would be objectively funnier.
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

Amazing reporting from @chalkbeat.org: Christian Nationalist law firm Alliance Defending Freedom was involved in setting up Colorado's first "Christian public school" specifically so it could get another case to the Supreme Court over whether public money can fund religious schools
After the Supreme Court tied on religious charters, Alliance Defending Freedom asked a Colorado school district lawyer to initiate a "parallel case," according to emails obtained by Chalkbeat. A self-described Christian public school opened a few months later. www.chalkbeat.org/colorado/202...

Yeah, that's what we're all terrified of.

McCORMICK: We are certain

VAN SUSTEREN: But have we? Can you say with certainly we haven't hit innocents?

the point of camo for a soldier is to obscure their position from the enemy. camo in an urban environment is completely different, and this forest green or desert pattern is functionally useless.

police only dress this way to project an image of power they should not have.

We spoke of metal rock, in another thread. Where did metal come from? I think it resulted from acid, and amplifiers, and I think this band was one of the proto metal bands. This lp. It draws on blues, and psychedelia, but the metal is strong in this one. Especially the 2nd track, Doctor Please.

No matter how damning, at this point the country's collective imagination is much more damning than what's probably in those files. (maybe not though, who knows).
My god (sorry I’m late on a bunch of this stuff. But wow!)

According to this NYT report, the head of the FBI and the Attorney General are holding meetings *in the Situation Room* with GOP lawmakers they are trying to pressure to rescind their votes to release the Epstein info. This is madness.
