I thought this day would never come: the Yellow Line 🟡 is running all the way to Greenbelt again!

Starting today, every other train Yellow Line train runs to Greenbelt — for the first time in more than three years.

Also, Green Line construction 🟢 is now completed and regular service has resumed.

Congratulations to our neighbors in Baltimore on this fantastic achievement. This is what’s possible when public safety agencies are focused, work as a team, and are accountable to the people and each other. www.thebanner.com/community/cr...

Another bad sign for D.C.: Tighter immigration policies are reducing tourism revenue. Domestic visits to D.C. far outpace international ones, but international tourists tend to spend much more money.

Per the D.C. CFO, the impact of the federal government layoffs may finally be hitting the city's revenues. He says in a new revenue estimate that sales/withholding tax collections for October were down, potentially reflecting the layoffs taking effect.

RT this with the DC-area music, theater, and dance performances you’re looking forward to catching this year. I want to know what to put on my calendar!
It's not even the only place in the D.C. area. There are theaters all over the place, many of them doing excellent work.

This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

A little tidbit: @janeese4dc.bsky.social just told me that her campaign qualified for public financing in just four hours since launching. That required getting $40,000 in small donations from at least 1,000 D.C. residents. That's pretty fast.
NEWS: Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George is running for mayor, stepping into an open race in the wake of Mayor Muriel Bowser's decision not to seek a fourth term. At-Large Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie is also meeting with campaign consultants this week for his own run.

DC is absolutely worth fighting for. Over the last five years, @janeese4dc.bsky.social has consistently chosen the side of DC's families, workers, tenants, small businesses, and vulnerable residents. Join me in donating to her on Day 1 of her historic campaign for mayor: bit.ly/jlg-2026

Can I get a HELL YEAH for @yourombudsmom.bsky.social and DC abortion access reporting and for this line in particular from @alexdodds.bsky.social: “I would invite people who care about abortion to organize to protect abortion before those attacks do happen."
ICYMI: This week we published @yourombudsmom.bsky.social's on how DC is one of the last outposts for abortion access throughout pregnancy in the United States. The district's murky legal status might change that though: theflytrap.beehiiv.com/p/the-distri...

The House just voted to undo DC's Sanctuary law.

This is not what DC communities want, and it is an incredibly dangerous threat to everyone who lives here.

We will fight to stop this bill from passing.
