Rudy Bridges is younger than the Sitting President of the United States and 29 sitting United States Senators
It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

The DHS wants your driver's license information. Why? To make it harder for people to vote.
New docs show DHS is gathering driver's license data in voter fraud crusade

made a similar point on the opinions podcast this week in response to the idea that epstein is a dead end. not only are actual voters interested in this but it divides the gop and puts pressure on the president. it would be political malpractice to treat it as a sideshow
The usual suspects are telling Dems that Epstein won’t win elections, get back to “affordability” and I think my head might explode. www.offmessage.net/p/force-a-re...

I'm catching up on a few stray elections on my list I hadn't checked, and:

Democrats swept all 9 city council seats in Cincinnati last week.

They've had an all-Dem council since 2023, but the GOP was hoping to gain back some presence.

Devastating piece on the human toll of Kavanaugh Stops.

Especially infuriating to know that rich white guys like Brett K can simply close their eyes to the human suffering their racist jurisprudence has unleashed.
For two months, the U.S. government has been racial profiling as masked federal agents hunted for immigrants throughout Chicago. They’ve repeatedly snatched up U.S. citizens while traumatizing communities. “I felt like a piece of trash.” Here is our story www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/15/l...

I’m curious if Pirro’s numbers show cases dropped at a higher number than usual for DC. Cases are dropped in huge numbers here because MPD can’t manage to consistently follow the rules about evidence or searches or violence.
DOJ has been abandoning a truly incredible share of the criminal cases it filed in D.C. this year.

Today, it asked a judge to dismiss yet another, this one involving a man charged with illegally possessing a gun "in light
of legal and evidentiary issues."

I feel like we’ve memory-holed that until the last 15 years or so, mainstream culture was largely fine with the idea of sexualizing teen girls (remember tabloid countdowns of the Olsen twins turning 18?) so I guess I’m not too shocked that some people want to go back to the era where perving is ok.
Holy shit. They're really doing it. They're doing "actually pedophilia is good now." The debasement of the American Right is complete.
