Maria Friedman directing Alan Cumming as Higgins in a chamber production of My Fair Lady. Pitlochry is a long way from where I live, and it's more likely than not that I won't get to see it, but that's a fascinating combination.
Alan Cumming Will Star in My Fair Lady in Inaugural Season as Artistic Director of Scotland's Pitlochry Festival Theatre
Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman will helm the new production, part of a season that also includes a U.K. premiere of Ceilidh , directed by Tony winner Sam Pinkleton.

Well this post was a journey.
So… A BP agent filmed in LA in June kidnapping someone from a Walmart got arrested by Long Beach cops after drunkenly flashing his service pistol in a women’s restroom. He demanded they call BP Commander Bovino. After making bail he died of a drug OD at his parents house. lbpost.com/news/isaiah-...
A viral arrest, a drunken brawl and an overdose: the last days of a notorious Border Patrol agent
We obtained hours of body-camera video that give the fullest — and perhaps last — glimpse of Agent Isaiah Hodgson’s mindset when he became a flashpoint in the fight over immigration raids.

I wanted to share probably the most important sermon I’ve given and it’s while I’m being arrested. It’s torture pure and simple what happens at #Broadview. I’m ok, though I was thrown to the ground and choked with my pectoral cross. A review of the video shows I was peaceful - did I deserve this?

This is my attempt at microblogging about doctrines of predestination.

If what you were told about God left you terrified, paralyzed, or convinced your suffering was just the will of a distant chooser, that is already a sign something is wrong with the theology, not with you.
It’s definitely a problem with a certain notion of elect, “we’re the chosen, therefore we’re safe, separate, or more valuable” is a betrayal of God’s self-giving life.

It turns God’s power into a power of domination and exclusion, instead of the power of service that spends itself for others.
