You just know that Starr has likely had to deal with a lot of racism within the ranks of skating, but I'm sure it stings even more to face it after you've just had an incredible skate

I hope USFS finds this lady and bans her from future events. This is inexcusably awful behavior and I refuse to believe a woman of her age doesn’t understand the connotations of giving the only black athlete at an event a raccoon plush. I hate this sport. I’m so sorry Starr.

sometimes i worry that i'm a barely competent mom at best but then i find out my 8 year old brought extra snacks to nutcracker rehearsals because she just knew someone wouldn't have food and wanted to make sure everyone had something and i think maybe I'm actually doing ok

I think both performances were stronger than Skate Canada. The scores didn't reflect that, but they were skated better. There's a lot of technical points that we left on the table for both programs.
