Hello, new followers! I'm Andreas, and I mostly post about beer-related topics. I brew beer at home, occasionally research various niche topics of beer history, and blog about it on dafteejit.com.
I also wrote and self-published a few beer history and home-brewing books (available on Amazon): 🧵

Resolved a 'glitch in the matrix thing, only a year late!

Last year, I was running on the canal footpath and a very tall, distinctive young woman was running the other way. She had a running top that I'd especially liked, & my brain fried when I saw her coming toward me again, 2 min later...

Industriebier, Blindproben. Daily WTF-Momente!

Only idiot demons show their faces so obviously, with growling, puking and levitation, and so bring the exorcists down upon themselves. The sly ones take possession early, lie low, and ruin lives in a thousand ways, behind closed doors, over the course of decades.

BLOG POST: What was Rustic Ale? Why have we never heard of it before? And what meaning did the words ‘rustic ale’ convey to drinkers? 🍺🍻

Mann’s Rustic Ale and ideas of authenticity in beer
London brewer Mann’s, best known for its brown ale, also had a product called ‘Rustic Ale’. What meaning were those two words supposed to convey?

At Prague Airport (Terminal 2), happy to see you can buy cans of beer from small breweries like Zichovec and Únětice, in addition to giant makers like Pilsner Urquell. Tomorrow, someone on the other side of the Atlantic is going to try a great Czech pale lager for the first time.

Our first attempt at wine making.

Two days between them for the first fermentation, but we know we won't have time to do the other Monday. Quite a gravity drop difference, but both not vinegar, so that's a positive. It tasted rather nice already actually! And now we wait until bottling!

I recently discovered oblique imagery of Berlin dated 1954, including my neighbourhood. In one of the photos, a half-torn-down wall can be seen on one building. The funny thing is, I took a picture of the same building just last June, and the wall is still in the same state as 71 years ago.
