Now that the worst of Storm Claudia has gone, it’s actually pretty great running weather. Got out for an easy 10K to get through some of the podcast backlog, only had a bad puddle situation in my last 2K. Acceptable.

This is some top-class Take A Break-style journalism.
I often think about this image.

Mainly I think about the 30 ish years Melanie Sykes had to wait to move on from ploughing her aeroplane into a US battleship to set out on the path to advertising Bodingtons.

My Parkrun is canceled today, and so time has no meaning. I guess I just…make another cup of tea? Totally lacking structure now…

Heading to Paris unexpectedly next week, never been before and will have nearly a day to myself; any must-do ideas - beer, food, sights? Conference is near the Pompidou Centre, but staying in Montmartre.

Child says I should hit the catacombs, but open to other suggestions…

It’s acceptable to go to bed at 7 pm when it’s stormy out, right? Just sitting on my couch in loungewear doesn’t seem quite restful enough…

Sharing to watch later!
This quite haunted me when it first came out, and though eccentrically made almost beyond the point of reason, those summer hedgerows in sunken lanes was the first time I'd had such an impression mirrored by a TV show.
Reposting for #folkyfriday

West Country Tales was a supernatural drama series based on real-life experiences sent in after a BBC appeal. Many #folklore elements here! Not all episodes are on YouTube unfortunately

Some painting happening at The Auld Triangle - odd to see it without the mural. Would imagine a new one will appear in due course.

Resolved a 'glitch in the matrix thing, only a year late!

Last year, I was running on the canal footpath and a very tall, distinctive young woman was running the other way. She had a running top that I'd especially liked, & my brain fried when I saw her coming toward me again, 2 min later...

Impossible to have a games and pastimes themed #FolkloreThursday without mentioning Iona and Peter Opie's groundbreaking work on childhood games. www.opiearchive.org (I also found this picture of the Opies at my old junior school in Liss, now sadly demolished.)
