Last year I wrote an article on Adorno's critical defense of the concept of progress, climate change, and the necessity of hope.

It's out now in the new issue of New German Critique, and it's perhaps more timely than it was at the time of writing.

Hope in a Warming World: Rereading Adorno on Progress
This article argues for the value inherent in rereading Theodor Adorno’s 1962 essay “Progress,” placing his thoughts in the context of the climate crisis and arguing for the necessity of retaining a f...

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

Featuring an avowed reactionary like Curtis Yarvin at a symposium billed as a gathering of “distinguished political thinkers” – alongside Quinn Slobodian and Lea Ypi – risks laundering openly anti-democratic views as just another contribution to respectable debate. Can’t see the case for this.

‘Judeo-christian’ is a smart term for persuading rightwing Jews that antisemitic rightwing Christians are no longer a threat. It’s like the LGBs who convinced themselves that they can ally themselves with homophobes by throwing trans people under the bus.

Many people just never want to learn.
The puff piece Reform wanted from their launch - full of the bogus term Judaeo-Christian as if to say ‘if we focus on Islamophobia hopefully you will overlook our antisemitism ’ www.jewishnews.co.uk/farage-expla...

“what we’re witnessing is…on the scale of the larger concentration camp systems in history—the Soviet Gulag, the Nazi concentration camps, & Chinese labor camps…The admin is actively aspiring to a system of that magnitude to reshape society to its racial, political & cultural prefs for generations”
When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.
