[1/x] My ham radio boat anchor rigs needing too much work, I thought I would get in on this weekend's AM Rally (amrally.com) on my Yaesu FTDX5000. Turns out; not happening. I put it on a dummy load and scope to look at the AM mod for the 1st time...

The AM Rally coming up this weekend got me thinking about dragging out my 100 watt Gonset G-76 transceiver. It hasn't been on the air since the early '70s & I need to come up with a power supply, so that isn't happening this time around. [1/x]

Yes at first glance I'd say that's not nearly as LOUD as HamClock is. 🙂 Like it or not, nice that it's available. I wonder if I can get it to run on my little Inovato Quadra when HamClock bites the dust. #OpenHamClock

Not as many options - and of course most folks will say it is more stylish. I say too stylish!

Yes at first glance I'd say that's not nearly as LOUD as HamClock is. 🙂 Like it or not, nice that it's available. I wonder if I can get it to run on my little Inovato Quadra when HamClock bites the dust. #OpenHamClock

This is terrible news. I had always assumed that #HamClock was aggregating stuff from various sources in the local software. I didn't know it was apparently all dependent on one cloud server. I suppose there's no hope of it getting open-sourced now.

"Half loop" antenna? Alternate name: Half-resistor antenna. What an extraordinarily bad idea. "Multi-band'? Of course it is. HALF OF IT IS A RESISTOR. Why not just use a dummy load and it will be all-band. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

This story could be crapto BS but there are a couple of Canadian calls that come up as belonging to a Rodolfo Novak. I assume this sort of crap is as illegal in Canada as it is in the US under FCC regulation §97.113 (a)(2). If it isn't, it should be.

As a kid I loved the look of this thing in the Allied catalog. I can't remember though if I realized at the time it had no BFO. I would have been really unhappy if I'd somehow bought one and discovered that after the fact. #Shortwave #HamRadio

I don't know what the deal is but since June I've gotten a few QSL "cards" via qslworld.com for QSOs dating as far back as March 2000, that I could not have possibly made.
Dunno what to do about it, so I probably won't do much. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
