Guy who plays with radio and talks a lot of bollocks. Music, science, beer, weather, beer, food, swearing and beer.
Well, ZL7/LZ1GC came through for two cycles on 40m FT8..and that was that.
Even i would be pushed to claim that it was exciting.

Yet.. i am still watching!
...watching.....hard pushed to get more greyline than currently,

Golly!
A little surprising that VO1FOG picked me up right at the start of that ISS pass - that would be a very nice confirmation and my first over the Atlantic.
Yay.. 😁
...nighty night all👍

Still very much a baby at this, but since i put the new antenna up 24 in the log.
So far only 6 from SO50, the rest ISS.
You can see i have blocks to the east- hopefully i can figure out northern passes of SO50 and get a few more there.
I did hear a SM station yesterday, which was a first.

ISS SSTV event terminated.

Apparently the transmitter packed it in after one orbit of transmissions.

There are many good versions of this song, even by these guys in fact, but this is a particularly fine version of the old Townes Van Zandt tune.
Fine indeed.

It has rained all day.
It is still raining.
I would like a baked potato for dinner.
I have no potato.

Well, i got EB5KT and DK1MI on that SO-50 pass, sadly the 3rd station, i cant can't pull the prefix out of the noise and get a QRZ match.
Certainly sounds like *UST and defo IO92.
But hey - another two from SO-50- it is more than just luck!

@dundeesat.bsky.social It is very wet outside.
Very!
November 13, 2025 at 7:12 AM
That was a good pass on the ISS.

As I wait to see if I can work anything of note in the 70cm ft8 thing in 20mins, I chow down on my spiced sausage & bean shepherds pie, topped with carrot and turnip mash.
Ya bass!

That's odd, just got a FedEx email wanting me to pay import taxes on a package i got a week ago. Seems a bit late to ask.. let us see what happens if i don't pay.

And now DHL just phoned me to pay import charges for another package- £50!!!
But they have my package so not much i can do about that.

Just because it came in today.
Just because it pleases me still.
Just because it is a nice one.

It is November, and that means "Butt Sumo" (尻つみ祭り) time again at the local shrine here in Ito, #Japan. Contestants stand back-to-back on a raised dais and, at the signal, attempt to bump their opponent off. The winners are sometimes surprising.

Nope - not understanding this RS-44 satellite. Sticking at the top tx frequency of 145.995 LSB isn't working. A number of booming stations, RA, DL, M0, F4 and not one heard me.
Hmmm!

Replace telephone call with "making an amateur radio voice QSO"...

Right then!
That was way more competent!

EA3B, EA2BW and EA5FNE in the log on that SO50 pass.
Pleased with that - Go me!
Hitting a cereal box in space and hearing it's 250mW UHF transmitter pleases me greatly!

Well, with the loosest possible definition of success, i was at least heard, by i assume, a French station on SO50 a minute ago- couldn't pull out the call.
Somewhat ironically heard him repeat my call no problem 3 times, but always nulled when he gave his.
Perhaps he will eQSL as a scrappy win.

With 1.7m subscribers, you have probably seen this guy - but truly, he is one of the greats at what he does. Always gives me a warm and fuzzy 8bit feeling somehow.
Knowledgeable, and quite, quite mad.

I won't remember tomorrow, but today I do.
Happy hamiversary to me!
Licensed for amateur radio for 10years.
What a big hobby it is, still so much more to do.

Hmm.. What will i give as a token gift when i go out with a coupe of work colleagues for a Xmas meal in a few weeks?
I know, I know, how about heavily stylised Xmas trees, in grey filament.
30hrs later....
That's Xmassay.

Last time i worked EA4SG, i was 2M0WDG in June 2017 using JT65 on 6m.

Well, I tried a few FM satellites at the start of the day and heard bugger all.
Questioning the performance of the new antenna!

Then again ISS pass just now, aye, i am hearing better, a couple of degrees and i was hearing stations.
9H1GW being a new DX worked.
So it does work.
