We call hams that have passed away silent keys. I’m a youngish operator, but at it now for 30 years so thought I’d ask. Another long gone friend on the radio said he wasn’t bothered by thoughts of the end. Energy is a closed system & our energy never leaves this universe. Great pic & as we say 73!

As we advance in license class we earn a shorter call. NX3K was his extra class call. Novice calls were 2x3, techs and generals like me 1x3, advanced were 2x2. It’s hard to get to extra, he must have been very proud of it. You can keep your old call, my dad is an extra but kept his general call.

Looks like FT type signal but I don’t think I’m reinstalling WSJT-X. I don’t get enough from the mode to justify the memory space.

Was doing a presentation on WL2K on zoom and struggling for a connect while live. Finally said let’s look at a VHF station everyone and that was no issues. Now I know why the struggle.

@swradiogram.bsky.social only decode for posted user errors and some fldigi screenshots. 2 different PC’s 2 different OS both had spontaneous display issues. Fixed Linux by new config, W10 by display manipulation. Will stay tuned for next week! #hamradio
