The great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice.

This nonsense slop diagram in Microsoft's GitHub training guide is embarrassing. Maybe review things before unquestioningly publishing generated garbage? I guess that's too much to ask of one of the largest and richest companies in the world.

While waiting for my #Xbox to reboot (Remnant #NMS hard-reboots my Series X, don't play on an important save), I ponder a universe that has FTL, teleportation and hand-held gravity manipulation, but has not yet invented the flat-bed tonneau cover.

If ICE and CBP don't want to be called secret police, then don't wear masks.

If they don't want to be accused of kidnapping, then don't drag people out of cars & houses without warrants.

And if they don't want to be accused of being lawless, then start following the law.

Dear @governorferguson.bsky.social,

What's your plan? Why would you dine with a convicted felon, rapist and the main character in the Epstein files?

Sincerely,
Concerned citizens.
No way will I attend the White House dinner with this President.

I’m standing with @govwesmoore.bsky.social and @colorado.gov — and standing against Trump’s corruption and hatred.

And I’m calling on my Republican colleagues to do the same.
Democratic governors to boycott White House dinner
More than a half dozen Democrats said Donald Trump disinviting two of their colleagues is the latest example of administration's 'chaos and division.'

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.

They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.

We've reached a place where people are ready to call these folks the liars, hypocrites, and bigots that they are. But that's not gonna stop them. They won't remove themselves. They have to be removed.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

it is the same playbook everywhere. “vote for us! we will make you great again by punishing the people you hate! do not pay attention to the fact that we’re also shoveling your money into the pockets of the uber wealthy and building a giant boot to step on your face too (preferably forever)”
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Since July, I've tracked at least 2,300 cases in which federal judges have ruled ICE has illegally detained people without bond or due process.

This is one that stands out:

I have been watching live streams from MSP all morning. Watching ICE murder and terrorize a community. I am sickened, and horrified, and enraged.

I am watching the people of Minnesota come together, with courage and solidarity to oppose the tyranny.

However sick my heart, it knows ICE will loose.

@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov @jayapal.house.gov @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social @governorferguson.bsky.social

Your duty is clear. Abolish ICE.

With every word. With every legal action. With every breath.

Abolish ICE.
As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

In summary:
- National secret police can shoot you in the face and lie about it later.
- Local police will protect that power.
- Local political leaders will protect that power.
- National political leaders will protect that power.

Only we can protect our rights. Today is the call.

Been thinking about this more today, and I think it's a seed for how i would like to describe my politics moving forward. I am opposed to the status quo because it requires people to be awful to succeed. I want to build a world where success demands being a full, kind, creative human.
Our love for each other, our creativity, our anger at injustice, our interdependence, our imagination, our desire to use all of our talents and skills to make things less bad. All of these things are necessary to fight the bullshit, to frustrate the terrorists, to win.

This isn’t immigration policy. It’s a business model.

ICE keeps growing, not because it makes America safer, but because corporations are raking in billions off cages, bodies, and suffering. ICE’s existence is a massive revenue stream.
