No worries: Just decide to spend the money on something else, just like Saka does.

“Unified care” seems pretty open ended.

Sneaker-net PKE, with the distributed creds defining a shared trust network.

Physical exchange includes SSL certs that enable VPN and TLS without DNS. All traffic would be expected to be encrypted. Over any network.

I envision a “gray network” to support gray markets and mutual aid. Trust exchanged out-of-band by physically sharing keys.

Distinct from dark web supported by crypto. Trust networks will be important.

Lots can be done with direct line of sight. Low orbit satellites are possible. There are old microwave towers criss-cross the continent; those could be referbed. LORA and long range wifi are pretty effective.

You should come see what we're building in Seattle: seattlecommunitynetwork.org

It’s time for the police union to purchase insurance, at their own cost, to cover the destructive and antisocial behavior of their members.

Taxpayers should not pay for the misdeeds of police.

It seems that rogue AI has taken over the editorial board, because that article is full of bullshit hallucinations.

I’m not surprised that no human wants to take responsibility for the slop. To the cowards who get paychecks for publishing this shit: shame on you.

We will get through this by doing what we have always done, showing up for each other.

Women, regardless of age, are property. Homosexuality is a sin. Both are documented in the Bible.

Most of modern society believes the opposite is true, but in large swaths of these United States; some people have heard that bigotry preached from the pulpit and broadcast towers all their lives.

I think we should avoid trivializing any of the harms being done.

While the market will ultimately determine if the AI investment is worthwhile (or devastating), generating that electricity is also generating a lot of heat and toxins. They're spinning up diesel in WA, and talk of nuclear and orbital data centers.

Trivial? The "AI problem" is well understated.

We used to have standards for public information (like news and political information). Further, online devices are flooding everything with distraction and disinformation, for profit and power.

I'd like to see verified info, strong search (not "AI") and community-participation moderation.
November 14, 2025 at 11:06 PM
I'd love to see the same. But I have no idea what it would take. Do you know if anyone has documented what it would take to referb a tower?

The valves still gotta valve, and passing pressured gasses down long, complicated pipes is like a huge steam organ. The release valves sing, the boiler grumbles, and the coal shovelers know every time the Executive engages the privacy lock to entertain a lover.

Mechanical typewriters produce plenty of excess noise and heat, that could be recorded at a distance and studied like the “fists” of war-time Morse code operators.

The thundering sound of progress is really the song of espionage.

Is it ever?

Not for anyone who's been president, and not much for the rich and powerful. "Justice" at the Congressional level has only ever been theater.
