Facebook plans to put facial recognition in its glasses and they think we’re too stupid to fight back.

Their internal memo: “We will launch during a dynamic political environment where many civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns.”

I remember that damn helicopter. It was honesty a little unnerving at the time.
At the protests in Boston on Jan 10, a state police helicopter hovered low enough over the crowd that it was hard to hear the speakers. None of the usual news helicopters were overhead.

I filed a public records request with @massstatepolice.bsky.social asking why.

The loud helicopter is state police.

It’s oppressive. Intimidating. Making it hard to hear the speakers.

What is the City of Boston going to do about sharing a plaza with ICE? Will we move resident-facing operations to satellite locations? Will we somehow restrict other operations on the plaza? How will we act if ICE is next door to City Hall?
This article lists the JFK Federal in Boston as the planned site for more ICE in Massachusetts @universalhub.com
NEW: ICE is leasing offices throughout the US as part of a secret, months-long expansion campaign. WIRED is publishing dozens of these locations.
