I regularly talk in panel discussions on AI and its social repercussions, and exactly this is the thing I constantly need to remind people of. Your nice and shiny AI or social media platform runs on the invisible labor of poor data workers. But it’s a subject Westerners prefer to ignore.

Heel interessant stuk over de rol van wetenschappers en experten in het publiek debat - zowel de rol die ze daarin zelf opnemen als die hen door anderen (journalisten, het publiek) wordt toegedicht.

Leunen we als journalisten soms te veel op de kennis van academici en specialisten, zeker bij complexe thema’s en netelige vragen? Een zelfkritische blik op experteninterviews, verantwoordelijkheid en kwetsbaarheid.
