It’s truly crazy that we don’t hand out short-term, pay-taxes, earn-the-right-to-stay-longer guest-worker visas like candy.

see, women have to pay $50-100 for a simple hair cut, but at least our stylist will just talk about the challenges of being Gen-Z: underemployed with a worthless boyfriend and trying to navigate your first solo apartment and his ego. You can just say, "girl..." and she'll fill in the rest.

they have tried to just deny reality (edpol is driven by underemployed baristas and HR reps - not true) or just devalue education altogether but that must feel hollow, right?

Tbqh, I’m touchy about criticizing baldness. My spouse started balding in his early twenties, while also chronically underemployed. By the time he had any disposable income to speak of it was far too late for any balding treatment to be effective.

I hear the snark. What can I say? The truth: I’m an underemployed former freshman comp instructor & former newspaper journalist. You can take me out of the classroom & the newsroom, but you can’t take those out of me. Sorry.

A long time ago, when we were both just annoying and underemployed young people online, Conor Daly once told me that he would "prove me wrong" for doubting him. I actually think he did that, really. He's been decent in an IndyCar on ovals for a while now.
