people keep reinventing the scenario in which you, the put-upon protagonist, have to clear up after the bumbling blissfully ignorant sidekick, and not once -- not *one time* -- has anyone hit upon the idea of making a game about rincewind and twoflower

We lost Twoflower en route to the emergency vet.

Rest easy, sweetpea. Your patient, gentle, generous heart enriched our lives beyond telling. We will love you forever.

Explain your username:

For dial-up BBSes, I used Random Q. Hacker, a character from a Douglas Adams game. That was too long for an Internet account so I switched to Twoflower, a character from Terry Pratchett books. I started using it for my stories to hide that I was stealing Internet access.
Explain your username:

In about 2007 or so, I decided I didn't want whatever nonsense AOL ScreenName I'd chosen at like 9 years old anymore. So I went online and found a "username generator" website thing and mashed "generate" a few times until it gave me InsidiousPie, which made me giggle.
Explain your username:

Its my name.

but I wouldn't recommend that for this story arc at least you should probably read Color of Magic before you read this one.

The light Fantastic has the same cozy and humorous atmosphere as the color of magic, but it has a more traditional storyline. We follow Twoflower and Rincewind...

There’s an asian man in the rivermarket with a bucket hat, black round thick framed glasses, chore coat and large SLR camera.

Maybe we’re on a Discworld kick, but I immediately thought: he has got to be cosplaying Twoflower.

I think baby me just accepted things as read & like sure Twoflower had strange phraseology, he was from a long way away!

Then adult me went "... wait." 🤣

Found these at a local bookstore yesterday. I still am not a fan of the drawing of Twoflower.

The cover art showing Twoflower with his four eyes (one pair in front of the other) always reminds me to give very specific instructions to artists when commissioning them.

Finished Terry Pratchett's 'The Light Fantastic' on the train home this evening. The second #discworld novel. The hero story arc for Rincewind and the use of the Luggage as a main character are excellent. Look forward to continuing with a reread of the series.

So I got this "Discworld Characters" jigsaw puzzle at my local small bookstore (The Book Rack) and after getting the border together completely randomly I got Twoflower together as my first character. 😁

Granny could do it. Not sure who else on the disc could do it intentionally and willfully (my self-insert blorbo Twoflower would carry it home and put it on a nice stand unless unless he dropped by mistake when visiting a volcano.) Maybe Carrot, but you hate to see it, he’s such a nice guy.
Hard mode: name a FEMALE non-LOTR character that could resist the One Ring.

I saw someone say Granny Weatherwax, but I have not read so I can’t be sure.

The only other woman I saw was Princess Leia and I’m sorry but that woman would be a dark emperor in a heartbeat & the galaxy would be well-run.

“What happens after a ship goes over the Rimfall?” said Twoflower.

“Who knows?”

“Well, in that case perhaps we’ll just sail on through space and land on another world.” A faraway look came into the little man’s eyes. “I’d like that,” he said.

Rincewind snorted.

The next con, NostalgiaCon, is at the end of next month. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to cosplay. If I do, it’s either Twoflower (which gets mistaken as Fear and Loathing and in LV 🤦🏽‍♂️) or Zapp Brannigan, if I can make it look legit.

Those two novels don't get a lot of love, but I really liked Twoflower. I might have to add them to my collection since that's where it all started.
