As a climate hawk I have to say: it might be good if airplanes moved fewer, richer people. Less flying overall, and less weight per plane.

I heard from an Edmonton councillor that the YIMBY response had a meaningful impact!
Congrats to Edmonton for retaining the 8-unit limit on infill housing developments instead of reducing it to 6 units!

It’s the backtracking proposal that was covered in this video.

IMO The deferral system has not been destroyed, it has been re-calibrated to do what intended (allow pensioners to live in their homes protected from skyrocketing land values) while removing the obvious incentive for profit-seeking it became.
