Building on the #socialstair and Transit Oriented Area #bcpoli, what further policy interventions might help #newwest develop more like the single lot redevelopment image, and less like the Land Assembly image?

No smart people in the military, on orders from the dumbest SecDef in history.
Hegseth to US military: if you get into MIT, we won't let you attend because of the risk that you will be exposed to ideas hostile to MAGA when you study there.

New literature review post!

I discuss research showing what happens to housing prices, rents, and displacement when demand increases faster than supply, and what happens when supply is allowed to keep up.

22nd Street Stn area needs help so bad 😭

My proposal: make 7th Ave one-way with all traffic flowing to 20th St. Removal of the opposite direction would make room for a bus lane, allowing buses to skip Qboro bound traffic, as they could snake into their bus-only turn lane, or left turn onto 6th Ave

@newwestminster.bsky.social @pjnewwest.bsky.social @translink.ca the situation is 7th Ave is DIRE. I counted 6 buses stuck in standstill traffic 😭😭

if there's any way you can control access to this street please do 😭😭

Meanwhile (if I heard correctly) #newest is prezoning every single residential lot for schools, rolling out the red carpet for any schools @davidebybc.bsky.social wants to build here.
Tonight, Vancouver council will have a public hearing for a school 19 years in the making

There's some community opposition to the project — but there's also the bigger question of why it takes the provincial and municipal governments 19 years to approve a single school
