If you need a break from Earthly bullshit may I present to you some cosmic gloriousness? I suspect it may help.

Rosette nebula, NGC 2237, from my backyard. It's too large to fit in my telescope's field of view. I used an H alpha filter. 🔭🧪#astronomy

New Technology Telescope image of Arp 271, also known as NGC 5426 and NGC 5427.

The mutual gravitational interaction of this pair of spiral galaxies distorts their shapes and creates a bridge of gas, dust and young stars that connect the galaxies.

Perseus Double Cluster Caldwell 14 (NGC 869 & 884) is a young pair of open star clusters with many hot blue-white stars. This years photo was taken with my SV555 Petzval astrograph which has better color correction than the scope I had used previously for this target.

And the nice thing about this event is that it was *not only* tracked by professional astronomers, the amateur astronomy community quickly turned their telescopes towards NGC 3621 to catch the supernova as well.

I watched and imaged it evolving over months from my backyard!

🔭🧪
A cool celestial firework (a supernova!) went off in NGC 3621, - a galaxy ~22 million light-years away - in April of this year, and lots of folks from around the world turned their telescopes to catch it.

It was very bright, even through small apertures.

I tracked it for months!

This was purely an experiment. I've never managed to do much with the tiny, faint cluster NGC 7006. I tried a 4X barlow, even though I knew it would introduce new problems. Not a great image, but worth trying. #Astronomy #astrophotography
