Eos has released a fantastic report today looking back at the last year of changes to science policy and the scientific workforce.

The full report is split into 5 sections. Sit down with it, share it with colleagues and policymakers, and keep an eye out for what's likely next in 2026.

If you’re frustrated with national news coverage and like podcasts, let me rec the City Cast extended universe.

In addition to DC I tune into Chicago, Portland, Twin Cities—TC had great segments today on local restaurants handling ICE and the mass resignation at the MN US atty office.

First clear night in awhile so I took a second shot of the Orion Nebula.

I used the SeeStar’s field widening (and view rotating) setting for the first time—a little too much, I ended up cropping it back down quite a bit.

I’ve been taking images with the SeeStar since this summer and they’ve all been exciting but this one made me actually emotional.

Look at this Orion Nebula beauty as big as you can make it:

My last event of #AGU25 was this packed town hall—it was incredibly moving to witness everyone stand and confirm the enormous value of @ncar-ucar.bsky.social to the scientific community and all of us who benefit from it.
