It’s strange to me that leaders who want to help Ukraine don’t care what happens to Venezuela.

They won’t care about Taiwan either.

I suppose it’s Eurocentrism?

Possibly racism.

When Ukrainian refugees first started fleeing people were saying “they’re just like us “.
This is scary because what’s stopping Putin from going after Zelenskyy now

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to be rich to feel cool. You don't need to worry about "things to make you more chic" lists because they're dumb, and boring. And overtly classist, and secretly racist—centering whiteness and Eurocentrism as the epitome of chic.

Thank you! As someone who speaks both Arabic and French and often use loan words when speaking English it is perfectly possible for me to use both voilà and wallah in the same sentence and if people think I’m simply mispronouncing voilà when I say wallah then that’s their Eurocentrism showing.

It’s obviously rooted in Eurocentrism/white supremacy but always a good laugh when you can easily bring up that even in Ptolemaic Egypt, people from Greek descent blended their own cultures/artistic tastes with traditional, centuries old Egyptian ones. The whole region is one of cultural exchange.

Eurocentrism isn't what they think it is lol

No idea honestly... got blocked by a random person for "eurocentrism" (and thus apparently, inherently, nazism or something). Said "eurocentrism" being me doing our folk art I guess 😭

people seeing a new third person turn-based rpg with real-time parrying and immediately dubbing it an "E33-like" sure is some fucking eurocentrism

As Mia Wong said Endnotes also never moved past some of the traditional flaws of (even "good") marxism, which I'd say is the class/capital-centrism (and eurocentrism when it comes from yt Western marxists)

Usually wouldn't post something personal like this for the sake of it but the talk on the eurocentrism of asd awareness is appallingly lacking
I have autism🥲I'm trying to get diagnosed but it gets to a level where a few days without a routine consistently gives me a feeling of overwhelm. One week? 100% i'll have suicidal ideation, possibly difficulty breathing in a panic attack,

These books come highly recommend if one wishes to understand the difference between capitalism and commerce & escape the eurocentrism of economic thinkers like Adam Smith, Karl Marx & Max Weber.

im ngl "hillbilly" is a word that reeks of subtle Eurocentrism and we should probably expunge it from our vocabularies.

Enrique Dussel -highly recommended. Not solely for his insightful essay on eurocentrism & modernity but his engagement w/ the philosophy of liberation as well.
For the praxis of liberation to exist, it is required to respect the other as other - not through compassion or sympathy but commiseration.

Agree The only time I have seen her be kind to a Labor PM was to Jason Clare

She reeks of private school entitlement and Eurocentrism . Always out to blame somebody
Rarely watch her
You don’t learn much . She only wants answers that fit her already made up mind and agenda

1) This new Eurocentrism - with the emphasis on political centrism - is foolish, dangerous and undoubtedly racist. It's hugely disappointing to see so many supposedly educated and empathetic people signing up to it. The 'defending ourselves from the barbarism to the east and west of us' fustian...

Oh 100%, sorry if that didn't come through in my reply!!! The Eurocentrism has for sure been off the charts this patch.

Then, Kevin B. Anderson's excellent "Marx at the Margins” about the "Third Marx", i.e. the Marx after 1867 and the publication of "Capital". This is the Marx of post-Eurocentrism & with interest in colonialism.

Liberal ideology was concocted by upper class white men who, on balance, believed in patriarchy, white supremacy, Eurocentrism, various religious dogmas and - most importantly:

[the value of wealth + the fundamental injustice its hoarding & control only by hereditary/feudal monarchs/aristocrats].

Eurocentrism in video games. Why art is neither progressive nor regressive (why a society IS), why the artist isn't a tool, and how AI being used as a "progressive tool to create art" misses the point completely. The grindset and the death of creativity.

"With the assistance of the human rights industry, which is infused with Eurocentrism and white saviorism, the collective West was given ideological cover to continue its project of racist plunder and colonial fascism."

I have trans people in my family.
Europe is not homogeneous.
Yet you wrote about Eurocentrism being the cause of transphobia.
To which I say that is not correct.
