Thinking about how much (as a leftist) I’ve enjoyed the works of John Milius, David Mamet, John Ford, even Tom Clancy and Clint Eastwood. But right-wing art is all influencer slop now, it’s the worst. None of it challenges anything.

There used to be, yeah. People have mentioned Eastwood, Yeats, and Cormac McCarthy. Dostoyevsky is another one. They used to have the ability to pump out worthwhile cultural artifacts but sold it off for cash and domination
There used to be a ton of right-leaning artists, poets, writers etc. This kind of person doesn't really exist anymore because all right wing energy is aimed at asserting the intrinsic superiority of this or that arbitrary genetic group on a podcast

As someone who has voted in CA for only fifteen years I still wouldn’t have voted for Reagan, Schwarzenegger, or Eastwood… much less the malignant narcissist sociopath Trump. I’ve never voted for any Republican but do think that Stewart and Colbert understand politics better than 99.9% of actors.
