Many silly dog pictures, tiny painted space bugs, and liberalism
So there's this joke, man is hitting himself in the head with hammer. Other man comes along and asks why he is doing such a thing. First man replies, because it feels so good when I stop.

That's my basic worry for when It Happens.

Preppers have different ways of approaching the dilemma of the Past Apocalypse Bunker, being "once the vault closes, how do you keep the security forces loyal." Some move to a feudal system of family relations. Others bet on killbots. Sinema has chosen "Polycule."

One of those "we're in a post-literate society" is seeing people get mad at Walz despite him very pointedly *not* condemning anything the protestors are doing. Meanwhile folks not in MN are calling for what, to open up shooting at ICE brownshirts?
They think a show of force and whiff of grapeshot will put the Libs in line, or at least give them an excuse they can run with on the news. They're desperate for some lone crazy to firebomb an ICE car so they can paint themselves as heroes because it's all content to them.

broke: star trek is sci-fi and star wars is space fantasy

woke: star trek is submarines and star wars is biplanes

You can only shame someone you have social power over and this is someone screaming to themselves in the mirror that nobody else binds them so they can do what they want.

I don't think they're managing to convince themselves let alone anyone else.
I have a bizarre fascination with people who constantly seek the validation of people they hate. They e conditioned themselves for social disapproval while basically despising the concept of social approval altogether.

Ferris Buller's Day Off by Studio Trigger or true sports anime Air Bud
we often talk about “what anime would you adapt into a movie” but here is a reverse: what movies would you adapt into an anime?

Modern ground pounder game design has found an iron triangle of
1. Big open maps
2. Easy to use long range hitscan
3. Starting with your weapon of choice

Overwatch sacrifices 1, TF2 sacrifices 2, Halo sacrifices 3.

Social Media is good for subcultures, bad for movements. It makes any sort of long term Organization harder because it flattens necessary hierarchies and makes splitting so much easier as well as provides alternative outlets for Feeling Activist.
social media benefited right wing social movements more than their opponents
it drastically reduced barriers to protests but was double edged

large even large sustained protests not needing the organizational infrastructure historically required to get people in the streets meant they often stagnated from tactical freeze and horizontal decision making. A cancer to movements

One thing I actually think we've learned okay is that the Youth are not a font of perfect wisdom. Sometimes they just have stupid fads like the summer everyone pretended to have Tourettes and you were expected to take it Deadly Serious.
have seen some folks mention or contemplate that there were parts of “Woke 1.0” that were inept, too much, ham-fisted, etc. Without putting anyone on the spot, has anyone more concretely described what, exactly, they think were the inept or too much parts?

To reach into the depths of anime, it's probably either Cowboy Bebop or the entire Evangelion franchise.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:
