Welp, they are allergic to chiggers apparently. Still got steroids but no shot thankfully.
My Middlest Heathen had some chigger bites last week that we couldn't quite get better. Doctor said it was no big deal and called us in an extra cream. Today they are covered in hives from knee to neck. 🫤

Welp, they are allergic to chiggers apparently. Still got steroids but no shot thankfully.
The one bug I can't stand. Even mosquitos are less terrible. I'm pretty allergic to them, tick (chiggers too) leave horrible weeping welts & that's w/getting the whole critter out. May also be the reason that red meat gives me hives. Either I caught Alpha Gal from a tick or I'm a little nuts.

You know I'm from where Missouri/ Arkansas/ Kentucky and Tennessee all cuddle close and I thought I knew skeeters. Then I moved to MN -land of 10,000 lakes. No chiggers here and not nearly as many ticks, but skeeters? WHOOOO BOY. Those they work hard at.

Found this rock on the Andrew's Bald trail. Almost the right size and height for sitting on for a rest. (I avoid logs - chiggers, you know). I call it "Lizard Rock."

Cute kids playing in the creek at Plumerville. I circled back and walked through the chiggers to get a picture for the paper. They didn't speak much English, but they spoke Spanish. "Buc-ees!" They said when they saw my shirt.
