Sometimes I post art even though I'm not satisfied with it—people still enjoy it.

Reminder that anyone can do art... drew 2 stick figures exchanging New Year's greetings? Congratulations, you're an artist & you didn't need a machine to spit that out for you.

Be not afraid... do human art in 2026💜

THE DAY CARES ARE LOCKED BECAUSE YOU MADE A GENERATION-LONG EFFORT TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE TO KILL THE CHILDREN INSIDE THEM YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING GHOULS
these fucking people. they pass laws to make sure every person with a screw loose who wants an Armalite can show up to the day care armed & ready to kill, then complain that the day cares are locked to protect the children inside
CNN: “Surely you don’t think a daycare should be unlocked.”

SHIRLEY: “There should be a reception area.”

CNN: “No, every day care is locked.”

SHIRLEY: “Fair point.” 🤔

He shows up to a day care with masked men and wonders why they don’t let him in.

🌱Camellia “Buttermint”
Doing better this winter with more summer watering during bud formation. Buds and blooms often get moldy because of all the rain we get in autumn.

"They found the coats on Thursday morning.

Fifteen winter coats. Good ones, not garbage. Hanging on the chain-link fence outside Lincoln Elementary. No note. No explanation. Just coats zipped up like ghosts waiting for bodies.

Principal Morris freaked out. Called the police. "Could be stolen"

🌱Also making a timely appearance… the hellebores have started. Early for us. But welcomed nonetheless.

🌱In keeping with the season, Camellia Yuletide. Finally coming back after a year or two of struggling. And with excellent timing.
Merry Yule!

If any journalist wants to talk to a trans man with a PhD in Human Genomics who was trained in labs that studied the evolution of sex, I'm right here

Or just keep platforming Republicans who have a 5th grade understanding of biology so they get more trans people killed, sure 🤷🏻‍♂️

As you may know, I have stopped using Twitter, and have decided to reproduce some of my more memorable threads here for posterity. Here’s one I hold wrote after a particularly engaging swordfighting lesson.

Buckle up, swordfighting fans, because I *have* studied my Agrippa!

So much wisdom in a “children’s” book…
"You must never feel badly about making mistakes," explained Reason quietly, "as long as you take the trouble to learn from them. For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons."

People who argue "who cares it's just for kids" all I can say is fuck right off. Kids deserve thoughtful, well-made movies that challenge them just as much as adults do. Kids aren't stupid, and they remember how movies affect them basically forever.

@heralyn.bsky.social and I were getting our holiday on yesterday… festooning and swagging the front patio, we quite enjoyed the fragrance of witch hazel. Gave us cause to wonder if witch hazel is considered to be part of pantheon of holiday fragrances…

The camellias are starting early. The witch hazel is in full bloom. Also early. And I heard tell the daffs are peeking up.
We’ve not had a legit hard frost yet. Warm (for winter) and plenty of rain.
🌱
Camellia blooms joining the show today are Yuletide and Buttermint. Yuletide have a rough season a bit ago and it is good to see it recovered. Buttermint is blooming a bit early this year, as a camellia that really struggles with our rain usually causing bud to go brown and soggy before blooming. 🌱
