The people calling these thirtysomethings white men "young boys" are the same ones who always want to try Black and Hispanic adolescents (and pre-adolescents!) who are accused of crimes as adults.
These “young boys” are men in their 30s.

imo this article is as much about “thirtysomethings being forced to grow up and deal with the ever-increasing burdens of adult responsibility” generally than it is about the burdens of children specifically, but framing it as being about the children keeps it from engaging with that fully
