#B-school
Monday nights.
Pick up kids at school A.
Drive 20 minutes to school B for son's basketball practice.
After half an hour, drive daughter to school A for her practice.
Drop her off, then drive back to school B to pick up son.
Then drive back to school A to pick up daughter.
Then drive home 😵‍💫

Maybe b/c I went to law school, where I learned a lot of this stuff, but I’m always surprised how many people don’t realize how racist, unjust, and downright shocking our carceral system is. Anyway, every American should watch this John Oliver piece on the fucking ridiculous crime of felony mirder.

I'm reading the stupid Ryan Lizza blog post and am kind of in awe that someone who writes like a B- high school junior in a creative writing class has spent this long getting paid to write things

👆🏽The way she hounded a MINOR, victim of a school shooting…that shit should follow her everywhere.
Especially these days, when we’re subjected to daily firehoses of shit…people forget. We need to be reminded of all the nasty bad-built BS this B dished out.

Texas' "SB 12 bars public school employees from socially transitioning a student."

"[T]ransformed school from a place of support to one that rejects who they are."

"[B]latant disregard for a person's sense of self. And to do that to kids is unconscionable."

Texas public schools "deadname" kids under new state law
The law requires school employees to use names and pronouns that conform to students' sex at birth.

Absolutely exhausted after my weekend at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social but elated over the reception to Cindy and Biscuit. Thanks to everyone who came to say hi, but my books and give me lovely feedback. My favourite moment was an 8 year old fan who showed me her school project about C&B. Thrilling!

Ingrassia withdrew his original nomination b/c even his own party couldn’t support him after his racist comments and harassment allegations. Installing him as GSA’s deputy GC, despite being just > 1 yr out of law school, shows how professional standards are replaced with loyalty.
President Trump has tapped Paul Ingrassia, who withdrew his nomination for the Office of Special Counsel after racist remarks emerged, to become deputy general counsel of the General Services Administration.

My experience is that 15 is a sweet spot. Maybe lower in classes that require more differentiation. For many schools, 15 would require having at least one more entire school, b/c caps are 30. But there are classes with even more than 30.

"Old-school Romero-style chaos with a side of Mommy Dearest. Creative feeding scenes that tie the line between horrifying and darkly hilarious. Susan is somehow both nightmare fuel and relatable (minus the brain snacks). Reads like a gory B-movie," - Amazon customer www.amazon.com/Zombie-Mom-M...

Wish I could say I skipped school to hear Jan speak at the NYU beat conference in 1994, right before her death (I was a particular kind of nerd and in fact my school let me go downtown in lieu of class) but anyway very good choice NYRB!! www.nytimes.com/2025/11/17/b...

A) this is all bullshit and they are evil and you shouldn’t have to do any of this

B) of those, school and hospital are the most likely to maybe still be obtainable. School records probably with a fee, if they still exist. Your state legislative Reps, if either isn’t R, are where I’d call first.

It’s been awhile, I miss you all but I do very much dislike BlueSky.

School is going great. I have 4 A’s and a B going into the last 4 weeks. I have a huge anthropology paper to right and 3 finals on one day but I’ll live.

Following his 1901 death, this trough on Colston Avenue was installed as a tribute to Cpt R B Nicholetts of the school ship HMS Formidable which taught neglected boys. A lover of animals, Nicholetts wanted a memorial which would offer them his kindness even after his death.

I loved this piece from @abovethelaw.com on Kardashian failing the bar because it makes the two essential points:
A: it’s fucking hubris for her to try this without going to law school.
B: She doesn’t NEED to pass the stupid thing to do her good works

I was spanked maybe once-which just pissed me off. So I didn't spank my kids. From what I've read about Chump's childhood, he was truly the "bad seed"-no empathy, hitting other kids, uncontrollable, from Day One. His parents didn't send him to a military school b/c he was such a sweet boy.

Ah "Caucasian" you mean the extremely religiously, ethically diverse transcontinental region, which has Black ethnic minorities and is really relevant to current political climate with the Russian invasion on Ukraine?

US, lol no, I mean this, it means "white":

Perfect example of why we should run for lower offices when we can. We heard stories on election night of entire school boards being swept clean of Moms for Liberty people simply b/c someone decided to run against them. It can be easier than we think! People are sick of their shit!
a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.
