I'm going to print this image out and hang it on my wall because the idea that this exists should fill everyone with absolute boiling fucking rage every day.
Here is the child’s drawing.

THIS is why the EU should step in and, at minimum, create a fully European credit card circuit independent of the US, and make it mandatory for banks that issue non-EU cards to also issue the local counterpart, and for POS suppliers that operate in the EU to accept it.

Trump has said he would 'reimburse' US corporations for 'fixing' Venezuela's oil industry once they are in control of it.
"It would be hard to find a more perfect encapsulation of the Marxist theory of monopoly capitalist imperialism if you tried"
Why Venezuela?

Oil.

Why now?

The affordability crisis, the end of the fracking revolution, and the threat of Chinese energy independence.

Why Venezuela? Why Now?
Trump might have more in common with Maduro than he thought.

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

The fact that Trump still can't understand the lyrics of this song eight years after he started using it, is pretty much an advertisement for better English + arts education in schools.

Airstrikes on civilian boats outside of US waters, ships seized... this type of violence and thievery in the high seas has a name, it's called #piracy, and the world should stop it like it mostly stopped it in the waters off Somalia. #USpiracy #stopUSpiracy #trump #stopTrump #boatstrikes

“Since AFP was founded in 1944, we have lost journalists in conflicts, some have been injured, others taken prisoner.

But none of us remember witnessing colleagues die of hunger"
A horrifying statement published today by the Editorial Committee of the Agence France-Presse (AFP) news agency.

"Without immediate intervention, the last reporters in Gaza will die"

"We'll sell weapons to other countries, and they'll gift those weapons to Ukraine" isn't support for Ukraine: it's just a sales pitch.

It’s 9am TFT time here, and citizens are already gathering to protest Tariffs by the United States. Our plain clothes Officer Penguins are attempting to maintain calm, but unfortunately we keep losing them in the crowd.

...and of course I've spent the last hour working to cut my family's usage of US-owned or US-made goods and services, with the goal to get as close as possible to not giving a single cent of our salaries to the US. If enough Europeans do the same, we won't even need to impose #tariffs of our own.

They’ll never accept it, but everyone who cast a vote for Donald Trump did real, generations-long damage to the United States and the west in exchange for essentially nothing of value.

I just got a public death threat from a few folks who noticed I am doing a library event to talk about my career and my books. They called me all the familiar names, then “I won’t be sad if someone shoots her in the face.” And a woman’s reply, “Right between the eyes.”

I am a children’s author.

It's not knee-jerk. It's an environmentally-destructive technology designed to fetishize idea over effort and excise artists from art in order to make techlords richer by plagiarizing pre-existing material made by *actual* creative people and not quote-unquote "prompt engineers."
I get the knee-jerk reaction against generative AI, especially with how much of it gets wrapped up in the whole Silicon Valley tech-bro culture.

But I fear we’re seriously missing the mark in writing it off entirely like this. There’s a ton of creativity happening with advanced prompt engineering.
I get why techbros and their ilk like gen-AI: artists and writers to them are just an obstacle to be bypassed. But I'll never get an author/artist/musician who uses it. "I want to be a writer." No you don't. You fetishize ideas but hate the work. You don't respect the craft or its practitioners.
