Reading this from the country that invented fascism (Italy), this is starting to look uncomfortably like the late 1920s.

And then... civil war between the US Army and the Minnesota National Guard?

Oh, I'm European too and it wasn't a threat, more like a prediction. I certainly hope that we'd treat US POWs well, but then again, the POW to KIA ratio in such an occasion would depend on the base commanders' willingness to surrender fast.

So now you have your big airbase, and two APCs supported by tanks, artillery and close air support breach the fence and park in the middle of the runway. Oops, now it's a European airbase, and those shiny F16s are stuck on the ground. The same goes for everything else.

There will be some who think "hey, but those bases are heavily defended, after all didn't the US have bases also in Iraq and Afghanistan, surrounded by hostiles?" Except that in Europe, those bases would face fully equipped modern armies, not ragtag rebels.

In addition to the sheer stupidity of it all, do you know how many military bases the US has scattered around Europe? If war breaks out over Greenland, those are instant casualties. Thousands of US personnel and tons of material: KIA or POW in the first 24 hours.

As an outsider, I wonder how long it will be before neighbourhood watches start to arm themselves (2nd amendment...) and shoot back. It feels like the US is teetering on the brink of either a fascist dictatorship or a civil war.

I got it: the National Guard deployment to US cities must have been a preemptive strike on a rogue state that was threatening to invade a NATO member.

What if Trump invades Greenland and Denmark invokes NATO Article 5? Will the US Marines start shooting at the US Army, or something like that? Will the US military invade US cities? Oh, wait...

Funny that a government who kidnaps other heads of state and routinely prosecutes other countries nationals for things they did outside the US, then complains when other states do the same.

Looking at how Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan played out, it could be prophetic of what an invasion will mean to countless US servicepeople.

Donald Trump: BYD influencer of the year for both 2025 and 2026.

Ideally by taking him out (possibly in a fast and painless way).

...after overseeing multiple extrajudicial murders and acts of piracy against the same country for months. Trump's the one who should be picked up by law enforcement and locked behind bars.
