Dear Santa,
I have been a total piece of shit this year. Coal in my stocking is too good for me. What I deserve when you come down my chimney is for you to skitter across my ceiling like a Babadook and drop the Atomic Elbow directly onto my sleeping butthole.
Love,
Timmy

This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

I'm a software developer, and I have not found generative AI to add any value to my or my team's outputs. I've signed up for every license my workplace has acquired, and I'm pretty sure they've acquired all of them.
the mediocrity engine only makes you stupider.
I think that may be the core division here: if you are an author or an artist the cons of generative AI very likely outweigh the pros for you

If you are a software developer the opposite is true

Bluesky should add a feature where you can manually set an affinity level for other users that they can see. I call it The Feelings Hurter.

When I say that locking mothers in the suburbs with small children breaks them? This is what I mean.

It’s why we need universal daycare, paid parental leave for a full year, with gradual return to work schedules.

Babies do best in groups of peers (siblings are not peers). And adults NEED peers!
I'm literally just living a normal life while also experiencing a theophany via communication with the satellite called VALIS.

The first episode of MST3K I saw was Gamera vs. Zigra on New Year's Eve 1988. I was watching on a small staticky black & white TV and didn't notice the silhouettes at first.

"Hey, are those guys at the bottom of the screen talking back to the movie? What is this?" (I became obsessed.)

Trump wrongly indicted me. I’ll rightly impeach him.

Impeachment isn’t just an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent — but is it working?

the actual lessons to take from this is that more americans need to unionize their roles & fields as a whole

pensions exist largely because of unions

instead of dismantling pensions for anyone, we should be wanting pensions for everyone
Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

I just feel we need to keep saying, over and over, that the problem with DOGE was not its failure to cut spending. the problem with DOGE is that it CUT GLOBAL AID LEADING TO THE DEATHS OF 600K PEOPLE AND COUNTING. 1
DOGE is one of the greatest failures of the Trump administration. The next Democratic administration should pick up that issue and actually work to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse. I’d suggest starting by taking a look at Elon Musk’s government contracts.
