As someone who is hard of hearing, I know firsthand the importance of having access to quality hearing aids & audiology care.

That's why I introduced the HEAR Act, which would expand Medicare coverage to include these crucial services.

I guess what we are going to do is defend Republicans using incorrect information and get mad a people who are pissed off by that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It keeps getting funnier, y'all, remember when Molly was threatening everyone for saying that she was describing money laundering?

Whelp.

Even better, he works just hard enough to have a Perot effect.

Can’t get a majority of white people to vote Dem, but we can split their vote with two conservative candidates.
This is exactly the kind of shit he loses interest in two weeks later but at least he’ll waste money
Elon Musk says he has formed his “America Party” which will, no doubt, siphon off votes from the GOP.

Said it before. Will say it again and will keep saying it: Support for slavery never ended. It just lost a war.

Today, right now, many Republicans are amenable to the idea and I expect to see proposals for its return — in one form or another — soon. Likely kidnapped undocumented immigrants.
Here’s JD Vance-influencer Curtis Yarvin advocating a return to slavery.

So that’s how things are going on this July 4th.

I don't know what will happen, but I do know that apolitical people can congratulate themselves for their part of getting into this situation.

Everyone who did not do the single easiest thing they could to stop Trump, which was to vote for Harris, can enjoy the consequences of their choice.
so my irl social circle is in freakout mode today because of student loan payments and skyrocketing health insurance rates, and I'm curious what the powers that be think will happen when millions of so far apolticial Americans suddenly can't afford to live

Done w/ the Kornetzkes & Greenburgs & white progressives/liberals/leftists whose solutions to the problem of the Southern Strategy is to center white voters and materially improve their lives. IOW to double down on white supremacy.

They more or less admit there's nothing to be done.

Among other problems with this writer, he should learn the difference between "always" and "usually." He doesn't always check out the material first, clearly.
Jason talked to the writer! “I do use AI for background at times but always check out the material first. This time, I did not and I can't believe I missed it because it's so obvious. No excuses,” he said. “On me 100 percent and I'm completely embarrassed.”
I spoke to the person who AI-generated the Chicago Sun-Times reading list. Says he's very embarrassed. This was part of a generic package inserted into newspapers and other publications, so likely to run elsewhere. He didn't know it'd be in Chicago Sun-Times

RESIGN
If we enter a shutdown, Congressional Republicans would weaponize their majorities to cherry-pick which parts of government to reopen.

Please read this critique of Malcolm Gladwell's theory on the "Ethnic Theory of Plane Crashes."

Just sayin’. Could have just gone with “I didn’t realize that.” Instead went with “I must erase this POC and their critique for my comfort.”

And to think you teach housing discrimination. Let me guess, you’re on the pro side.

Mr. Fancy Lawyer Guy posts this publicly on Facebook and I see it come across my feed.

I have opinions on Malcolm Gladwell's sloppy scholarship combined with his assertion in "Outliers" that the single factor most correlated with a plane crash is having a Korean pilot due to Korean culture. (more)

The problem is a lot of what these guys want is unearned validation, subjugation of women and the right to be awful.

Don't know how you deal with that other than shaming it into disempowerment or nipping it in the bud early through Mr. Rogers style shit.
I honestly don't know exactly what can be done about this. The cultural left has virtually zero share in media aimed at young men, and often isn't perceived as having much to offer them.

Democrats desperately need an answer to Joe Rogan--a good, healthy answer, not more garbage.

once again reminded of how the NYT sent me more emails to fact check Rice Truck than they have had critical sentences about invading greenland or whatever the fuck ol pudding brain was on about that day
A lot of people who are incredibly shrewd critical thinkers when someone posts a cute but improbable story, have a hard time recognizing when they’re being snowed by every piece of propaganda and outrage manufacturing they see in the news and online.

And mind you, it has been mostly social stigma, not the improvement of dominant group cultures, that made the Civil Rights era better than the Jim Crow era.

They made it clear when they said to us the thing that they like about Trump is he says things the way they wish they could say them.
This is exactly what concerned me in the immediate wake of the election. We’re losing the social stigma against Trumpism in mainstream culture. Things get really bad when fascist fucks don’t need to pretend anymore in polite company.
the big tech world has wanted to be as openly ‘anti-woke’ as elon musk has been, they’ve long agree with him but figured social sentiment was firmly against reactionary world views. now that musks gambit paid off, we’re going to be seeing more of this for awhile

Insta is trying to be the new Tik Tok and Zuck just puckered up to kiss Trump's rump, so my guess is that Insta will be the new Tik Tok.
As a Supreme Court decision in the case that will determine the fate of TikTok looms, some of the platform’s roughly 170 million users in the U.S. are starting to wonder: Where is everyone going instead? nyti.ms/4a9uyrP
