Expanding on this a bit because I'm feeling irritable this morning.
I fully expect that if this goes through we will live in a world where the NHS will say: "Well, the waitlist for the gender identity clinic is twenty years, but we can get you on assisted dying inside six weeks."

I do not trust any government to implement assisted dying, because the state will always see the disabled and dying as burdens, not human beings.
I trust this government and the one likely to follow even less. We can't allow them to kill our most vulnerable to line the pockets of their donors.

Having to resign from a BBC science show after 16 years and 33 seasons, for not being a transphobe is where we are as a country.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.
