haven't written any substantial amount of fanfic in well over a year, and then today I wrote 7k all at once. that's how it goes I guess. I'm really relieved, because I thought I was too anxious and sad to write anything. could a depressed person do THIS??? (yes, absolutely, but it's nice to write!)

the YA stuff and the "not like other Betazoids" stuff is VERY much not for me but it's fine, like it's doing that genre and many people enjoy it and that's fine! Meanwhile I can enjoy all the adults with bad backs complaining about teaching 😂 I actually think the show blends those genres really well

oh that's so interesting! You obviously did such a Hamlet deep dive. I was excited to see the painting-on-glass adaptation! But yeah I can see how you're looking for overlap for this and some things go too far afield

I pretty rarely vid a source more than once these days, but there's always room for more ST: Lower Decks vids!! I wanted to do an ensemble vid this time, & wanted to lean into the things I know @thingswithwings.bsky.social likes about it (mainly the chaos, the kinkiness, and the Voyager references)
