Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.

Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.

"3.5% rule" "60% of nonviolent protests succeed"

You may have heard these cited as fact. But they stem from a single dubious source.

In the first in a series @thefreeradical.org debunks these, showing how they're propaganda to erase the power of militant, riotous revolt and peddle passive protest:
Liberation is a Riot, Part 1: Debunking the Sanitized Nonviolence Myth
Based on shoddy research, bad history and outright lies, status quo propaganda portrays a sanitized version of ‘nonviolent’ protest as the only option, to damaging effect. It’s time to debunk it, and ...

My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it

I think what makes it all so difficult is how many millions of people still cling onto lies and false comforts about a country founded on the genocide of both indigenous and Black people. "This isn't who we are. We are better than this. The democrats will save us from the tyranny of republicans."

There’s one phrase that is really insidious settler-colonial/nationalist propaganda: ’the US is a nation of immigrants‘ which tries to make it seem like people came here for a ‘better life’ and weren’t complicit/involved in the displacement and genocide of indigenous peoples

If every Muslim voter in Dearborn voted for Harris, she still would have lost Michigan.

If she had won Michigan, she STILL WOULD HAVE LOST THE ELECTION.

If you want to blame voters for current conditions, feel free to blame the actual demographic responsible for Trump and that is WHITE PEOPLE.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going.

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

In thinking about indigenous rights and Land Back, I realize that a lot of people still don’t understand that the colonial relationship to land is vastly different (land as commodity, to be fenced in and from which resources are extracted, where its purchase is validated by the government)

I genuinely thing that US-Americans do not believe the rest of the world to be real.

"Isn't it better if the administration is in the hands of people who are just as genocidal as conservatives but who believe in rainbow capitalism and DEI?" is not an opinion someone with a soul would espouse.

The idea that sexual abuse is part of “private” life instead of a public crisis has done incalculable damage. Anti-rape activists have to fight to even make it possible to expose sexual abuse as a wrongdoing in public without being silenced and undermined. That fight is far from won

Serving as a stormtrooper in an imperial military should be stigmatized. The entire war machine is set up as a giant jobs program, and it's the last vehicle for social mobility left in the US. That's on purpose. You shouldn't have to be a spear carrier for the empire to afford college.

Yes, this is correct. And the reason is because our capitalist classes have decided that it is not sufficiently profitable, so they're not going to do it.

We must understand this reality. Capital *cannot* be relied upon to address the climate crisis.
